Our bank has launched the new “Face-to-Face e-Laisee” function. Simply generate a Laisee QR Code through Chong Hing Mobile Banking, and the recipient^* can scan the QR code using Chong Hing Mobile Banking to receive the e-Laisee instantly. This function supports sending e-Laisee to multiple recipients at once, with up to 50 packets per transaction, making it easier and more convenient for you to share blessings with family and friends.

^*This function is only available to Chong Hing Bank customers, and recipients must bind their mobile phone number to FPS via Chong Hing Mobile Banking to receive the e-Laisee.

1. Support both-to-sign joint fixed deposit placement

Customers with both-to-sign joint deposit and fixed deposit accounts¹ are eligible to place both-to-sign joint fixed deposit via “Fixed Deposit Placement” via Internet Banking Services. If customer does not have an applicable fixed deposit account, they may open a both-to-sign joint fixed deposit account at the same time under the same names. Instructions must be submitted by one account holder, and reviewed and confirmed by the other account holder before execution, thereby eliminating the inconvenience of both account holders having to visit a branch.

¹Only applicable to both-to-sign joint account with 2 account holders.

2. Add “EUR” currency option for “FCY Exchange Fixed Deposit Placement” function

Customer can now exchange EUR and place EUR fixed deposit at once via “FCY Exchange Fixed Deposit Placement” via Internet Banking Services, with minimum deposit amount of EUR 10,000.

3. Add change of address function

To facilitate customers in updating residential address/correspondence address online, customers holding a Hong Kong Identity Card can update the information under "My" > "Personal Information and Security Settings" > "Change Personal Information" of Mobile Banking. After filling out and confirming the information, customers must complete e-ID verification (including taking picture of their HKID Card and selfie) and use Mobile Token to complete the process.

In addition to opening savings accounts and time deposit accounts through Remote Account Opening Service in Mobile Banking, new customers can also open current accounts, enjoying a more comprehensive and convenient one-stop account opening experience.

New customers can remotely open the following types of accounts/services:

• Multi-Currency Savings Account
• Time Deposit Account
• Internet Banking
• Chong Hing Card (ATM Card)
• Consolidated Statement (e-Statement)
• Investment Account (Optional)
• Current Account (Optional)

2. Upgrade of the “Wealth” module

The “Investment” module of Internet Banking Services has been renamed as “Wealth”. On the Mobile Banking App, the “Wealth” homepage features a dedicated area providing quick access to transaction related functions; and a wealth-themed area has been set up, covering funds, bonds, precious metals (paper gold offline transaction enquiry), Currency Linked Deposit and referral for Chong Hing Securities account opening, providing customers with a more seamless and efficient experience.

1. Adding QR code logon method on Internet Banking

Starting from the Effective Date, if customers would like to conduct high-risk transaction(s) via our Personal Internet Banking, please select “QR Code Logon” method on the logon page of the Personal Internet Banking, then use a mobile device with Mobile Token Service activated in the “Chong Hing Mobile Banking App”, click “+” > “QR Code Logon” on the top right corner of main page to scan the QR code in order to log on to Personal Internet Banking and perform related transactions.

2. Increase of the maximum daily tax payment limit

In response to customers’ demand for higher online tax payment limits, the daily maximum limit for online tax payment has been increased to HKD1,000,000. Customers may adjust their limits with greater convenience through the “Transaction Limit Setting” function in Internet Banking and Mobile Banking.

To enhance customer experience during financial transactions or settings, shortcuts have been added to the top right corner of following function pages in our Mobile Banking. By clicking the shortcut, customers can instantly access related transaction records or perform relevant actions without navigating back to the main menu, thereby improving both operational efficiency and user experience.

• “Transfer/FPS”: New shortcut for “Online Transaction Record”;
• “FPS addressing”: New shortcut for “Transfer/FPS” and “QR Code Pay”;
• “Telegraphic Transfer”: New shortcut for “Currency Exchange” and “Online Transaction Record”

1. Update on activation/ re-activation of Mobile Token Service

To provide customers with secured and efficient Internet Banking Services, from the effective date, the operations for activating Mobile Token Service will have the following updates:

• Customers holding a Hong Kong Identity Card, who wish to (a) activate the Mobile Token Service on a mobile device for the first time, or (b) re-activate the Mobile Token Service when switching to a new mobile device, will be required to conduct an e-ID verification during activation (i.e., photographing the identity card and taking a selfie);
• Before re-activating the Mobile Token Service on a new mobile device, customers must disable the Mobile Token Service under "Personal Information and Security Settings" > "Mobile Security Setting" of Internet Banking or Mobile Banking App on the old device.

2. Added “Safe Deposit Box Appointment” function

To facilitate customers in making appointments to open a safe deposit box at our branches, a new “Safe Deposit Box Appointment” function has been added to Mobile Banking. Customers only require to fill in basic information, and the Bank will contact them by phone to confirm the reserved date and time.

To meet customers’ daily usage needs, we have expanded the quick links area on the main page of Mobile Banking (Stylish version) to 2 pages with horizontal swipe design. Customers can easily customize 4 quick links to frequently used features, tailored to their needs for more convenient access to financial transactions.

2. Added shortcuts for transaction records

To facilitate customers to check transaction record when performing financial transactions, a shortcut has been added at the top right corner of input pages of the following functions. By clicking the shortcut, customers will be redirected to the relevant enquiry function without having to return to the main menu, enhancing both operational efficiency and user experience.

• “Fixed Deposit Placement” and “FCY Exchange Fixed Deposit Placement”: New shortcut for “Fixed Deposit Overview”；
• “Currency Exchange”: New shortcut for “Online Currency Exchange Record”

New “Payment Connect” is Launched

“Payment Connect” allows you to instantly transfer funds to Mainland recipient bank accounts (Northbound Transfer) anytime, anywhere via Internet Banking or Mobile Banking using either bank account number or mobile phone number, including both same name and non-same name accounts, without any handling fees. At the same time, customers can also receive RMB or HKD transfers from Mainland banks (Southbound Transfer), making cross-border transfers more convenient and faster!

1. Disable/Enable Online Registration of My Payee and/or Online Increase of Transaction Limit

To reduce the risk of customers being unknowingly intercepted by malware according to the HKMA’s requirements, the Bank introduces the function to disable/enable online registration of My Payee and/or online increase of the transaction limit.

Customers can disable the services through the below means:

- Mobile Banking: “My” > “Transfer Settings” > “Service Settings” or

- Internet Banking: “Settings” > “Transfer Settings” > “Service Settings”

After disabling the services, customers will no longer be able to (1) add/amend registered payees and/or (2) increase transaction limits via Internet Banking Services. However, they can still delete the registered payees or lower the transaction limits.

If customers would like to re-activate the online registration of My Payee and/or online increase of transaction limit thereafter, please ensure the mobile token service has been activated, and they can go to “My” > “Transfer Settings” > “Service Settings” of Mobile Banking Services to perform e-ID verification (take picture of HKID Card and selfie).

2. Extend Display Time of Scam Prevention Alert for Transfer Transactions 

To allow customers to have sufficient time to review the scam prevention alert for transfer transactions, the display time of the suspicious transaction alerts of Internet Banking Services is extended to 10 seconds, customers can choose to quit or continue the instruction only after the countdown is completed.

To help customers easily track their monthly financial status, a monthly summary of income and expenditure is provided under “Transaction Record” on Mobile Banking. This feature eliminates the hassle of manually compiling scattered transactions.

Additionally, income and expenditure records are displayed in different colours, making personal financial situation clear at a glance.

2. Added “Credit Card Services Change Instruction” and” Credit Card “Over-the-limit Facility” Service Update” functions

To provide you with more convenient Internet banking and mobile banking services, the new “Credit Card Services Change Instruction” and” “Credit Card Over-the-limit Facility Service Update” functions have been added.

Customers can use the “Credit Card Services Change Instruction” function to update their employment information, set up direct debit authorization (including cancelling and changing the payment amount), request a replacement card and obtain a re-issue Personal Identification Number (PIN).

3. Added “App Version Details” function

To facilitate customers in accessing the version information of the Mobile Banking App, customer can check below App details via “My” > “About Us” > “App Version Details” after updating the Mobile Banking App from the effective date:

- Current version of the App version

- Availability of the latest App version

- Service upgrade information and details of the latest App version

- If a newer version of the App is available, customer can immediately update it by accessing the App Store, Google Play, or by downloading the APK

To facilitate customer to perform online transactions, service hours of (1) Fixed Deposit, (2) Currency Exchange and (3) FCY Exchange Fixed Deposit on Internet Banking will be extended. Details are as follows:

To help customers better understand the Mobile Banking services, a new “Feature Highlight” option has been added under the “About Us” section in Mobile Banking. This provides a brief introduction to the latest and highlighted features and customer can easily navigate to the desired feature for using the services. We will continue to add more highlighted features in the future, and customer can explore all contents by clicking “Explore More” on the page.

3. Optimization of Credit Card Supplementary Card Services

To enhance the completeness of the “Credit Card Transaction Record” feature, the principal credit cardholder can now query the transaction records of their supplementary card(s) through Internet Banking Services.

Credit Card selection menu has been updated to include identifiers for both principal and supplementary cards. Additionally, name of the cardholder is added on the functionality page to help primary cardholders distinguish between cards.
