About Chong Hing Chip Card
1: What are the features of the "Chong Hing Chip Card"?
A: The security level of the new "Chong Hing Chip Card" is further enhanced with the newly added chip to provide you with more secured ATM services.
2: Do all the existing Chong Hing magnetic cards have to be replaced by Chip Card?
A: Yes. Chong Hing Bank will mail the new chip-based ATM cards to you to replace the current Chong Hing magnetic cards by batch.
3: Do I need to use new PIN with the new "Chong Hing Chip Card"?
A: No. You can use your current Chong Hing magnetic card PIN 1 to activate your new "Chong Hing Chip Card".
4: What are the features of the "Chong Hing Chip Card"?
A: The new "Chong Hing Chip Card" will be mailed to you from quarter 3 of 2013 onwards until March 2014.
5: Can I keep using the current magnetic card after activating the new "Chong Hing Chip Card"?
A: Once the new "Chong Hing Chip Card" is activated or 60 days after a new Card is issued (whichever is earlier), the current magnetic card will be invalid. Please destroy the current card after the new Card is activated.
6: Will there be any handling fee for the card replacement with the new "Chong Hing Chip Card"?
A: No. It will be free of charge 2 to upgrade your current Chong Hing magnetic card to new "Chong Hing Chip Card".
7: Will there be any increase on the card annual fee after card replacement?
A: The annual fee of the "Chong Hing Chip Card" will be the same as the existing Chong Hing magnetic card.
8: I have already submitted a request to add or remove a secondary account(s) / change the ATM display language at branch. Why can't I see such change(s) on the ATM screen?
A: After you make such request at any of our branches, you can update the account changes or ATM language with the "Chong Hing Chip Card" via a chip-based ATM with logo on the next working day.
9: Can the new "Chong Hing Chip Card" be used at the existing ATMs?
Can I make purchases with the new ATM Card at merchant outlets?
A: Yes. The existing ATMs (including those ATMs which have not adopted the "chip-based technology") could fully support the "Chong Hing Chip Card". Besides, you can make purchases with the "Chong Hing Chip Card" at merchant outlets marked with
logo or 
logo, and your existing bills registered for Payment by Phone Service ("PPS")3 (if applicable) will remain unchanged.
10: How do I identify an ATM which has adopted the chip-based ATM technology?
A: ATMs which have adopted the chip-based ATM technology will display the icon 
.
11: What is the difference between the “UnionPay QuickPass” payment function and card insertion payment function?
A: : You can simply tap your new UnionPay Chong Hing Card on any reader with the “UnionPay QuickPass” logo at sales points and then enter your Card PIN into the terminal to complete the payment instantly, without card insertion and signing.
12: How to apply for a Chong Hing Card with “UnionPay QuickPass” function?
A: : From 22 March 2023 onwards, the ATM cards issued will be embedded with “UnionPay QuickPass” payment function when your application is done via the channels below:
- Existing customers apply for UnionPay Chong Hing Card replacement
- ii. The UnionPay Chong Hing Card issued and sent to customers by post following account opening.
13: Is there any handling fee for using the “UnionPay QuickPass” payment function?
A: : No. Neither the sales points nor the Bank will charge you any handling fee.
14: How to use “UnionPay QuickPass” for spending in Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China or overseas?
A: : The system will automatically choose the relevant currency based on the location of spending. The total transaction amount will be deducted directly from the primary account associated with the new UnionPay Chong Hing Card, and the exchange rate for converting foreign currency into the currency of primary account will be based on the rate provided by UnionPay at the transaction time.
Remarks :
- If the issue date of your JETCO Card is on or before 30/11/2000, the Bank will re-issue the "PIN" to you.
- ATM card without chip technology will not be able to perform ATM cash withdrawals with effect from 1/04/2014.
- If the issue date of your JETCO Card is on or before 17/06/1996, you are required to re-register your existing "PPS" services.
