The Credit Card Cardholder’s Liabilities and Chong Hing Bank’s Set Off Rights



1.   If your credit card is lost or stolen, you will be liable for the use of the credit card until such time you notify the Bank. The maximum liability for unauthorized transactions shall be HK$500. However, the Cardholder has to indemnify the Bank in full for all losses and / or other liabilities or damages it has incurred or sustained if he / she has acted fraudulently or with gross negligence or the Cardholder has failed to inform the Bank as soon as reasonably practicable after having found that his / her Card(s) / PIN(s) has / have been lost or stolen or when someone else knows his / her PIN(s).

2.   The Bank may at any time and without prior notice set off or transfer any amount standing to the credit of the Cardholder’s account(s) opened with the Bank whether held singly or jointly with others in or towards satisfaction or discharge of all sums due to the Bank by the Cardholder in connection with the Card(s).

3.   The principal card Cardholder shall be liable for all transactions and obligations of the Card(s) including those incurred by the supplementary Cardholder(s) and that each supplementary card Cardholder shall only be liable for his / her transactions and obligations. The Cardholder has to make immediate full payment of all monies due to the Bank with respect to his / her Card(s) on demand by the Bank.
