Liu Chong Hing Bank Limited renamed as Chong Hing Bank Limited

With effect from 23 December 2006, the name of Liu Chong Hing Bank Limited has been changed to Chong Hing Bank Limited.

 

Reasons for the change of the name of the Bank:
• to better reflect the original intent of its founder, the late Mr Liu Po Shan, that the Bank, as a caring and responsible corporate citizen contributing to society like the "Chong Hing College" established by the late Mr Liu in the 1950s to promote education and nurture talents, does not necessarily have to bear the surname "Liu (廖)";
• to rejuvenate the corporate image of the Bank to make it more appealing to a younger generation;
• to facilitate the further development of the Bank's various business lines in the vast mainland China market under the auspices of the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement; and
• to more accurately reflect the public nature of the Bank as a public company listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.

1. Can I keep using passbooks, cheque books, Chong Hing Cards and credit cards previously issued by "Liu Chong Hing Bank" after the change of name?
   Yes, you can.
2. Can I keep using my existing account number and passwords (e.g. ATM passwords, Telephone Banking Services passwords and Internet Banking Services passwords) for banking services after the change of name?
   Yes, you shall keep using your existing account numbers and passwords.
3. Are those agreements signed in the name of "Liu Chong Hing Bank Limited" still valid after the change of name?
   Yes. The legality and the legitimacy of those agreements will not be affected by the change of name.
4. Are there any changes to the Bank's terms and conditions, rules and service charges due to the change of name?
   No, everything remains unchanged. The Bank will notify you if changes or adjustments arise in the future.
5. Due to the change of name, do I have to re-register my existing auto-payments and standing instructions which debit from or credit to accounts and credit cards of "Liu Chong Hing Bank"?
   No.
6. Are cheques made payable to "Liu Chong Hing Bank Limited" still effective after the change of name?
   Cheques for payments to the Bank should be made payable to "Chong Hing Bank Limited" after the change of name. However, cheques made payable to "Liu Chong Hing Bank Limited" will still be accepted by the Bank.
